Burning fossil fuels

The majority of Australia’s greenhouse gases emissions originate from the burning of fossil fuels for energy (e.g. for electricity and transport). When oil, gas or coal burns the carbon that is bounded with it, it blends with oxygen and creates carbon dioxide.
